The David Sheldrick elephant orphanage, in the Karen district of Nairobi, saves orphaned elephants from certain death away from the protection of their herd.
These elephants are less than a year old and have covers and sun cream on to protect them ashtey do not get the necessary protection from their mother's milk or shade.
