This very old elephant was completely alone in a vast plain on the borders of Chobe River. You can see how old he is, looking at the deep cavities in his skull.
I was a little reluctant of posting this photo, because it looks like "photoshoped", but in fact, it was just converted to duotone and the contrast was enhanced dramatically to show the textures. The birds are real (not difficult in Chobe River ;-) and the low angle was obtained because I was in a boat and the elephant was in a sand bank near the border.
